Roller Derby will now open at the Ailey Citigroup Theater

Roller Derby, a new musical with book by Barry Arnold, with lyrics by Barry Arnold and John Braden, and score by John Braden and Harold Wheeler, will now open at the Ailey Citigroup Theater, where it will run from 20 - 27 Sep 2007, as part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival.

The musical was originally scheduled to perform at the Theatre at St. Clement's from 20 - 26 Sep 2007.

The Roller Derby race begins when on the road in 1972 a brash young rookie from New York City's mean streets takes on the sport's beloved but aging star in a battle royal for the right to be crowned the reigning Roller Derby Queen.

Directed and choreographed by Donald McKayle, Roller Derby features Renee Bang Allen (Dixie Dalton), Ashlie Atkinson (Diesel Wilson), Lea DeLaria (Martha Krepski), Sylvia Roldan Dohi (Marge Brandt), Ruben Flores (Oscar Guererro), Eric Michael Gillett (Jim Streeter), Yvette Gonzalez-Nacer (Joy Costa), Antwayn Hopper (Ken Robinson), Sean Jenness (Buddy McCormick), Eric William Morris (Ron Wallinski) and David Shih (Sammy Kilroy).(cast updated 22 jun 2008)
