Rent: Telly Leung joins cast in November


Telly Leung is to join the cast of Jonathan Larson's Rent playing the role of 'Steve and others' from 20 Nov 2006.

Telly Leung originated the role of Boq in the Chicago production of Wicked, made his broadway debut in the ensemble of Flower Drum Song (revival 2002), his other Broadway credit includes Pacific Overtures (revival 2004).

Rent opened at the Nederlander on 29 Apr 1996, following a successful off-Broadway run. The musical is currently booking to 25 Mar 2007.

Rent is the story of Le Boheme retold about poor New Yorkers on Lower East Side with a different ending.

The musical, directed Michael Greif and choreographed by Marlies Yearby, also features Christopher J. Hanke (Mark), Tim Howar (Roger), Justin Johnston (Angel), Jaime Lee Kirchner (Mimi), Mark Richard Ford (Tom Collins), Maggie Benjamin (Maureen), Nicole Lewis (Joanne), D'Monroe (Benny), Frenchie Davis, and others.

The show has set design by Paul Clay, costumes by Angela Wendt and lighting by Blake Burba.
