Renée Elise Goldsberry sets Hamilton leaving date
Producer Jeffrey Seller has today announced that Tony Award winner Renée Elise Goldsberry will play her final performance as Angelica Schuyler in the Tony-winning musical Hamilton on Saturday, 3 September 2016. It had previously been announced that she would depart the production in October 2016. Broadway alum Mandy Gonzalez will begin performances in the role on 6 September 2016.
Renée Elise Goldsberry is also currently filming "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks" for HBO, in which she plays the title role and will soon begin shooting the Netflix series "Altered Carbon."
Mandy Gonzalez originated the role of Nina in Lin-Manuel Miranda's first Broadway musical 'In The Heights.' Her other Broadway credits include 'Wicked,' 'Lennon,' 'Aida,' and 'Dance of the Vampires.'
The principal cast of Hamilton currently includes Javier Muñoz (Alexander Hamilton), Tony nominee Brandon Victor Dixon (Aaron Burr), Lexi Lawson (Eliza Hamilton), Tony winner Renée Elise Goldsberry (Angelica Schuyler), Tony nominee Christopher Jackson (George Washington), Anthony Ramos (John Laurens/Phillip Hamilton), Okieriete Onaodowan (James Madison/Hercules Mulligan), Jasmine Cephas Jones (Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds) and Rory O'Malley (King George).
The Broadway production of Hamilton officially opened on 6 August 2015 to excellent reviews, following previews from 13 July, and is currently booking through to 21 May 2017.
Hamilton features a book, music, and lyrics by Tony winner Lin-Manuel Miranda, and is inspired by the book "Alexander Hamilton" by Ron Chernow.

Hamilton is directed by Thomas Kail, with music direction and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, scenic design by David Korins, costume design by Paul Tazewell, lighting design by Howell Binkley, and sound design by Nevin Steinberg. It is produced on Broadway by The Public Theater, Jeffrey Seller, Sander Jacobs and Jill Furman.
