Playwrights Horizons has announced a new production for the company's current 2017-2018 off-Broadway season. Miles For Mary, created by the theatre troupe known as The Mad Ones and directed by Lila Neugebauer, will begin previews at Playwrights Horizons' Peter Jay Sharp Theater on January 11, 2018, before an official opening on January 22 and a limited engagement through to February 4, 2018.

Synopsis: "It's 1988 and the planning committee for Garrison High School's ninth annual Miles For Mary Telethon is fired up and ready to go. Across subcommittee sessions in the Phys Ed teachers' lounge, The Mad Ones assemble an analog elegy to the camcorder 1980s, Girls Track and Field, and the consecrated American High School."

The cast of Miles For Mary includes The Mad Ones company members Marc Bovino (as Ken Wyckoff), Joe Curnutte (as Rod Dietrich), Michael Dalto (as David Eagan), and Stephanie Wright Thompson (as Sandra Bulkman), as well as Amy Staats (as Brenda Zadakian) and Stacey Yen (as Julie Wyckoff-Barnes).

The creative team features scenic design by Amy Rubin, costume design by Asta Hostetter, lighting design by Mike Inwood and sound design by Stowe Nelson.

Miles For Mary was first staged at The Bushwick Starr in Brooklyn in 2016 and earned a "New York Times Critic's Pick" from Ben Brantley.

Playwrights Horizons is currently presenting the New York premiere of a For Peter Pan On Her 70th Birthday, written by two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist and Tony nominee Sarah Ruhl and directed by Obie Award winner Les Waters, which began performances on August 18 at the Mainstage Theater.

Other productions this season include the world premiere of Robert O'Hara's Mankind, the world premiere of Lindsey Ferrentino's This Flat Earth and the world premiere of Jordan Harrison's Log Cabin at the Mainstage Theater, and the world premiere of Max Posner's The Treasurer, and the world premiere of Clare Barron's Dance Nation at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater.
