Phantom 2: Love Never Dies to premiere on Broadway in Nov 2010


It was officially announced today that Andrew Lloyd Webber's sequel to Phantom of the Opera - Love Never Dies will premiere on Broadway on 11 Nov 2010 at a theatre to be announced. Further details of the Broadway production are still to be announced.

Tickets went on sale on 8 Oct 2009 for the London production of - Love Never Dies, which opens at the Adelphi Theatre on 9 March 2010, following previews from 20 Feb 2010.

The show will feature Ramin Karimloo as 'The Phantom', Sierra Boggess the role of 'Christine' and Summer Strallen as 'Meg Giry'. Further casting to be confirmed! Ten years after the mysterious disappearance of The Phantom from the Paris Opera House, Christine Daae accepts an offer to come to America and perform at New York's fabulous new playground of the world - Coney Island. Christine arrives in New York with her husband Raoul and their son Gustave. She soon discovers the identity of the anonymous impresario who has lured her from France to sing.

Music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Lyrics by Glenn Slater. It is directed by Jack O'Brien, designed by Bob Crowley, choreography by Jerry Mitchell.

Ramin Karimloo will create the role of 'The Phantom' in Love Never Dies, having already played the role in "The Phantom of the Opera" in London. Ramin's other stage credits include starring as 'Enjolras' in "Les Misérables" in the West End, 'Chris' in the UK tour of "Miss Saigon" and 'Artie Green' in the UK tour of "Sunset Boulevard". Ramin also played 'Raoul' in the West End production of "The Phantom of the Opera", as well as the role of 'Christine's Father' in Joel Schumacher's film, making him the only actor to play all three of 'Christine's' loves.

Sierra Boggess made her Broadway debut creating the lead role of 'Ariel' in Disney's "The Little Mermaid". She also understudied the role of 'Cosette' on the Broadway National Tour of "Les Misérables". In 2007 Sierra was handpicked by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Hal Prince to originate the role of 'Christine' in a brand new production of "Phantom - the Las Vegas Spectacular". Love Never Dies marks Sierra's West End debut.

Summer Strallen's London Stage credits include "The Sound of Music" at the London Palladium in 2008; "The Drowsy Chaperone" at the Novello Theatre in 2007; "Dick Whittington and His Cat" at the Barican in 2006/7 "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and "The Boyfriend" at the Open Air theatre in 2006; "Guys and Dolls" at the Piccadilly in 2005. "The Phantom of the Opera", based on the French novel by Gaston Leroux, has proved a huge success the world over and has been seen by over 100 million people, making it the single most successful entertainment entity in history.
