Pearl Sun steps in for Emily Walton in Broadway's Come From Away

Sun takes over the role of Janice through March 29, 2020 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre.

Current standby Pearl Sun steps in to cover the roles of Janice & others in the smash hit musical Come From Away at Broadway's Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre tonight for a run through March 29, 2020, as cast member Emily Walton takes time out to star in the new Off-Broadway musical Darling Grenadine.

Sun's previous Broadway credits include Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas! and If/Then. She has also appeared off-Broadway in The Seven, An Oak Tree, Walmartopia and Happiness.

The Broadway cast of Come From Away currently includes (in alphabetical order) Petrina Bromley (as Bonnie & Others), De'Lon Grant (as Bob & Others), Becky Gulsvig (as Beverly, Annette & Others), ​Joel Hatch (as Claude & Others), Chad Kimball (as Kevin T., Garth & Others), Kenita R. Miller​ (as Hannah & Others), Caesar Samayoa (as Kevin J., Ali & Others), Pearl Sun (as Janice & Others), Astrid Van Wieren (as Beulah & Others), Jim Walton (as Nick, Doug & Others), Sharon Wheatley (as Diane & Others), and Paul Whitty (as Oz & Others).

Directed by Tony Award winner Christopher Ashley and written by Tony Award nominees Irene Sankoff & David Hein, Come From Away began previews at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre on February 18, 2017, and officially opened to excellent reviews on March 12.

Synopsis: "Come From Away is set against the backdrop of that infamous day in September 2001. In a heartbeat, 38 planes and 6,579 passengers were forced to land in Gander, Newfoundland, doubling the population of one small town on the edge of the world. When the world stopped, their stories moved us all."

The creative team behind Come From Away features choreography by Tony Award nominee Kelly Devine, music supervision by Ian Eisendrath, scenic design by Tony Award winner Beowulf Boritt, costume design by Tony Award nominee Toni-Leslie James, lighting design by Tony Award winner Howell Binkley, and sound design by Tony Award nominee Gareth Owen.

Come From Away is produced on Broadway by Junkyard Dog Productions.
