Passing Strange at the Public Theater


The Public Theater presents the world premiere of the musical Passing Strange, book and lyrics by Stew Rodewald, music & lyrics by Stew & Heidi Rodewald, created in collaboration with Annie Dorsen, playing at the Public's Anspacher Theater from 1 May - 3 Jun 2007.

Passing Strange: A young black bohemian in search of self and home, charts a course for 'the real' through sex, drugs, and rock and roll.

Passing Strange will be directed by Annie Dorsen, with choreography by Karole Armitage, set design by David Korins, costumes by Annie Smart, lighting by Kevin Adams and sound by Jake Rodriguez.

Casting to be announced

The musical is co-commissioned and co-produced with Berkeley Rep, where it recently concluded an initial run, Passing Strange will continue in development at The Public Theater through April 2007.
