Other Desert Cities: Thomas Sadoski to return

Thomas Sadoski will return to the role of 'Trip Wyeth' on 8 May 2012 in the Broadway premiere of Jon Robin Baitz's Other Desert Cities playing at the Booth Theatre. Sadoski assumes the role from Matthew Risch who will play his final performance on 6 May 2012.

Thomas Sadoski originated this role in the off-Broadway production of Other Desert Cities last year at Lincoln Center Theater winning both an Obie and Lucille Lortel Award for his performance and again played the role when the play opened on Broadway. During his hiatus from the production, he filmed a role in the new HBO Aaron Sorkin's series, "The Newsroom," which premieres in Jun 2012.

The Lincoln Center Theater (LCT) critically acclaimed Broadway transfer of Jon Robin Baitz's new play, Other Desert Cities, directed by Joe Mantello, opened at the Booth Theatre on 3 Nov 2011, following previews from 12 Oct 2011. The show, which was originally scheduled to close on 8 Jan 2012, is now playing an open run and is currently booking through to 17 Jun 2012.

Directed by Joe Mantello, the cast currently features Stockard Channing (Polly Wyeth), Elizabeth Marvel (Brooke Wyeth), Stacy Keach (Lyman Wyeth), Judith Light (Silda Grauman) and Matthew Risch (Trip Wyeth).

In Other Desert Cities, Brooke Wyeth, a once promising novelist, returns home after a six year absence to celebrate Christmas in Palm Springs with her parents, former members of the Reagan inner-circle, her brother and her aunt. When Brooke announces that she is about to publish a memoir focusing on an explosive chapter in the family's history, the holiday reunion is thrown into turmoil and the Wyeths are both bound together and torn apart as they struggle to come to terms with their past.

The Broadway production of Other Desert Cities reunites Lincoln Center Theater's original design team: John Lee Beatty (sets), David Zinn (costumes), Kenneth Posner (lighting), Jill BC DuBoff (sound) and Justin Ellington (original music).

LCT premiered Other Desert Cities at the Off-Broadway Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater, where it played from 16 Dec 2010 - 27 Feb 2011.
