'Only Gold' sets full Off-Broadway cast
The new musical will go up at MCC Theater in October.
MCC Theater has set the full cast for its world-premiere musical, Only Gold, which features music and lyrics by award-winning British singer Kate Nash and a book, direction, and choreography by Tony Award winner Andy Blankenbuehler. Performances run from October 5 to November 27, with a November 7 opening night.
Nash herself leads the 26-person cast as the narrator, which also stars three-time Tony Award nominee Terrence Mann as the King, Tony Award nominee Karine Plantadit as Roksana, Gaby Diaz as Tooba, Hannah Cruz as Camille, Ryan Steele as Jacques, and Ryan VanDenBoom as Henri.
The cast also includes Haley Fish, Jennifer Florentino, Jacob Guzman, Tyler Hanes, Thayne Jasperson, Reed Luplau, Morgan Marcell, Ximone Rose, Ida Saki, Ahmad Simmons, DeAnne Stewart, Voltaire Wade-Greene, and Katie Webber.
The show's swings and understudies are Jacob Burns, Phil Colgan, Bradley Dean, Victoria Fiore, Samantha Pollino, and Eleri Ward.
Additional creative team members have also been announced, with Grammy, Pulitzer, and Tony winner Tom Kitt providing vocal arrangements, and Tony- and Grammy-winning Hamilton orchestrator Alex Lacamoire providing additional arrangements and orchestrations. The creative team also includes scenic designer David Korins, costume designer Anita Yavich, lighting designer Jeff Croiter, sound designer Nevin Steinberg, hair and wig designer Tom Watson, arranger and orchestrator Cian McCarthy, music supervisor Meg Zervoulis, and music director Cynthia Meng.
Only Gold is a dance musical in which a royal family arrives in Paris, which forces people of all social classes to evaluate their choices, test their bonds, and follow their hearts. The show was conceived by Blankenbuehler, a three-time Tony Award-winning choreographer for Hamilton, Bandstand, and In the Heights.
