Old Jews Telling Jokes to close on 15 Sep 2013



The comedy revue show, Old Jews Telling Jokes will play its final performance on 15 Sep 2013. When th show closes it will have played 22 previews and 552 regular performances.

Old Jews Telling Jokes opened at the Westside Theatre Downstairs on 20 May 2012, following previews from 1 May 2012.

The show opened to mixed, but mostly excellent reviews: A winning concept executed deftly with affection (NY Times); Adds up to a kosher-pickle barrel of laughs (NY Daily News); This one could run forever (Variety).

Co-created by Peter Gethers and Daniel Okrent, Old Jews Telling Jokes is directed by Marc Bruni and showcases five actors in a revue that pays tribute to and reinvents classic jokes of the past and present. Think you've heard them all before? Not this way.

The current cast features , Chuck Rea, Marilyn Sokol, Todd Susman and Steve Vinovich.

The creative team features David Gallo (Set and Video Design), Jeff Croiter (Lighting Design), Alejo Vietti (Costume Design) and Richard Fitzgerald/Sound Associates (Sound Design).

It is produced by Daniel Okrent and Peter Gethers, and Tom Viertel, Marc Routh, Richard Frankel, and Steven Baruch.
