The New York premiere of Jim Steinman's Bat Out of Hell: The Musical celebrated its official opening at New York City Center last night in a blaze of sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll (read our 5* review) and producers have released the official production photos for the New York run, which continues through September 8, 2019.

And like a Bat Out of Hell, here they are:

Featuring a book, music & lyrics by Jim Steinman, the apocalyptic tuner includes iconic Meat Loaf songs from the infamous "Bat Out of Hell" albums such as "I Would Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)," "It's All Coming Back to Me Now," "You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth," and, of course, the titular song.

Synopsis: "Join the eternally young Strat and his wild gang, The Lost, as they roam the streets of Obsidian, a post-apocalyptic Manhattan, ruled by the wicked and tyrannical Falco. When Strat first sets eyes on Falco's daughter, Raven, who has been locked away in the palace towers, he sets out to rescue her from her evil father's clutches in a full throttle tale of teenage love, youthful rebellion and living the rock and roll dream."

The principal cast of Bat Out of Hell includes original West End stars Andrew Polec (as Strat) and Christina Bennington (as Raven), alongside Bradley Dean (as Falco), Tony Award winner Lena Hall (as Sloane), Avionce Hoyles (as Tink), Danielle Steers (as Zahara) and Tyrick Wiltez Jones (as Jagwire).

Under the direction of Jay Scheib, the creative team features choreography by Emma Portner and Xena Gusthart, musical direction by Ryan Cantwell, musical supervision & additional arrangements by Michael Reed, orchestrations by Steve Sidwell, scenic design by Jon Bausor, costume design by Jon Bausor & Meentje Nielsen, lighting design by Patrick Woodroffe, sound design by Gareth Owen, and video design by Finn Ross.

Bat Out of Hell: The Musical is produced by Michael Cohl, Tony Smith, Bob Broderick, Lorne Gertner, and David Sonenberg.

Bat Out of Hell Tickets are available now for performances through September 8, 2019.
