Newsical: Leslie Kritzer joins cast on 25 Mar 2011

Leslie Kritzer, whose Broadway credits include 'Sondheim on Sondheim,' 'A Catered Affair,' 'Legally Blonde' and 'Hairspray,' will join the cast of Newsical beginning 25 Mar 2011. She steps in for Christine Pedi, who has injured her ankle. Kritzer will perform through to 23 Apr 2011. Pedi will return on 24 Apr 2011.

The cast of Newsical currently features Mark Waldrop, Christina Bianco, Michael West, John Walton West, Amy Griffin and Tommy Walker.

Newsical, by Rick Crom, opened at Theatre Row's Kirk Theater on 9 Jan 2011, following previews from 13 Dec 2010, and is currently booking through to 18 Dec 2011.

No one in the news is safe! Newsical lampoons all the top events, headlines, newsmakers, celebrities and politicians of the day. With songs and material being updated on a regular basis, composer-lyricist Rick Crom's topical musical comedy is an ever-evolving mockery of all the news that's fit to spoof.

Rounding out the creative team are Ed Goldschneider (music director), Jason Courson (set designer), David Kally (costume designer) and Scott Delacruz (stage manager).

The show is produced by Tom D'Angora (Broadway Diva Christmas, Naked Boys Singing!, Divas I've Done) and Elyse Pasquale (Betty Rules).
