New Shanghai Circus replaces the previously scheduled Golden Dragon Acrobats at New Victory Theater

The New Victory Theater has announced that The New Shanghai Circus, an innovative and internationally renowned troupe of Chinese acrobats, aerialists and athletes, will replace the previously scheduled Golden Dragon Acrobats for their holiday season show, running from 30 Nov 2007 to 6 Jan 2008 at The New Victory Theater.

The Golden Dragon Acrobats were cancelled due to visa complications. All tickets to Golden Dragon Acrobats will be honoured.

The New Shanghai Circus previously appeared at the New Vic in 1999 and 2002 and is back with a thrilling spectacle of Chinese circus arts. These astounding acts, dating back to the harvest festivals of 2,000 years ago, combine with show-stopping choreography, dazzling lighting, enchanting scenery and powerful music to create a dynamic and fantastic performance, sure to amaze.

The New Shanghai Circus is one of the worlds leading purveyors of Chinas prestigious, 2,500 year-old art form. Many of the performers started training in Hai at the age of nine, learning skills developed originally in village festivals. The performers learn overall acrobatics but specialize in one particular skill. Together they are some of the best acrobats, contortionists, bicyclists, magicians and jugglers in the world.
