The new musical Soon will make its Off-Broadway premiere this fall at St. Luke's Theatre. Written by Nick Blaemire and directed by Will Blum, the show will run for six weeks only beginning September 30.

Described as an "indie-pop chamber musical," Soon follows Charlie, who's waiting for the end of the world and must work up the courage to simply open her front door, and Jonah, who's waiting for Charlie to start living.

Blaemire and Blum are both multi-hyphenates. Blaemire has performed in Broadway musicals like Godspell and Cry-Baby in addition to writing and co-writing musicals like Glory Days (Broadway), Safety Not Guaranteed, Space Dogs (Off-Broadway), and the stage version of Disney's Descendants. Blum directed shows including the U.K. premiere of Bonnie & Clyde and Space Dogs in London, and he has performed in Broadway shows like Grease, School of Rock, Beetlejuice, and The Book of Mormon.

They're joined on the Soon creative team by music supervisor Wiley DeWeese and music director Andy Collopy. Cast and additional creative team members will be announced at a later date.

Soon previously premiered at Signature Theatre in Arlington, Virginia, in 2015, and an NYC pilot production took place at the East Village Basement in October 2025.
