New film 'Theater Camp,' starring Ben Platt, releases trailer

The movie, directed by Molly Gordon and Nick Lieberman, will have its nationwide release on July 14 after debuting at the Sundance Film Festival in January.

It's summer camp season! The first trailer for the new comedy film Theater Camp has been released, and you can watch it below now.

Theater Camp is written by Molly Gordon, Nick Lieberman, Ben Platt (currently on Broadway in Parade), and Noah Galvin. Gordon and Lieberman also make their their directorial debuts with the film.

All but Lieberman star in the movie about a pair of lifelong friends who work as drama instructors at an upstate theatre camp. When a tech bro arrives to take over operations — and ruin the camp — they band together with their students to put on a masterpiece and save it.

The film's ensemble cast also includes Jimmy Tatro, Patti Harrison, Ayo Edebiri, Alan Kim, Amy Sedaris, Nathan Lee Graham, Caroline Aaron, and Owen Thiele.

The 2023 version of Theater Camp is a full-length adaptation of a 2020 short film. It premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival and will have its nationwide U.S. theatrical release on July 14.
