Modern Terrorism: cancels four previews
Second Stage Theatre have announced that their world premiere production of Jon Kern's Modern Terrorism, Or They Who Want To Kill Us And How We Learn To Love Them, which began previews on 21 Sep 2012, has cancelled four preview performances due to actor illness.
The production canceled previews 30 Sep, 2 Oct and on 3 Oct 2012. The cancellations have delayed the opening to 18 Oct 2012. The production, which was originally scheduled to open on 15 Oct 2012, will still end its run on 4 Nov 2012.
Directed by Peter DuBois, the cast features Utkarsh Ambudkar (Second Stage's 'Animals Out of Paper' and 'The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Diety'), Steven Boyer (Obie Award-winner for 'Hand to God'), William Jackson Harper ('Ruined') and Nitya Vidyasagar ('The Glorious Ones', Leela on "Sesame Street").
Modern Terrorism is a satire about a rogue group of 21st Century terrorists and their darkly comic misadventures. As a young bomber develops feelings for his beautiful, secretive conspirator, he is torn between his duty and his heart. When his hipster neighbor accidentally gets caught up in the plans, circumstances spiral out of control.
The creative team features set design by Alexander Dodge, costumes by Mimi O'Donnell, lighting design by Mimi O'Donnell and sound design by M.L. Dogg.
