Medieval Play: John Pankow replaces David Pittu
Due to a scheduling conflict John Pankow ('Amadeus,' 'Cymbeline') replaces the previously announced David Pittu in Signature Theatre company's world premiere production of the Medieval Play, written and directed by Kenneth Lonergan, opening at the Signature Center's End Stage Theatre on 7 Jun 2012, following previews from 15 May 2012, and running through to 24 Jun 2012.
Pankow joins the previously announced Anthony Arkin, Heather Burns, Tate Donovan, Kevin Geer, Josh Hamilton, Halley Feiffer and C.J. Wilson..
Medieval Play: Two French mercenary knights set out on a quest for relative moral redemption against the classic comic background of late 14th century ecclesiastical politics. A story of friendship, love, noble feats of arms, indiscriminate brutality, the progressive refinement of medieval table manners and the general decline of the chivalric ideal at the onset of the Great Papal Schism of 1378.
The design team includes Walt Spangler (Scenic Design), Michael Krass (Costume Design), Jason Lyons (Lighting Design), David Van Tiegham (Sound Design) and J. David Brimmer (Fight Direction).
Kenneth Lonergan was nominated for a 2001 Pulitizer Prize for his play 'The Waverley Gallery.' His other plays include: 'This is Our Youth,' 'Lobby Hero' and 'The Starry Messenger.'
