Tickets are now on sale to the general public for the Manhattan Theatre Club's production of Theresa Rebeck�s Mauritius.
The dark comedy, the first production of MTC�s 2007-2008 season, will open at the Biltmore Theatre on 4 Oct 2007, following previews from 13 Sep and run through to 25 Nov 2007.
Mauritius: Jackie and Mary are half-sisters whose mother's death leaves them in possession of a rare stamp collection. But which sister actually owns the stamps? Which of three dealers can be trusted with their sale? And where do we choose to live: the present or the past?
Mauritius is a co-production with the Huntington Theatre Company (which this spring received the Elliot Norton Award for Outstanding Production for the world premiere production of the play.
Directed by Doug Hughes Mauritius features: F. Murray Abraham (Sterling), Dylan Baker (Phillip), Bobby Cannavale (Dennis), Katie Finneran (Mary) and Alison Pill (Jackie).
The design team comprises of John Lee Beatty (sets), Catherine Zuber (costumes), Paul Gallo (lighting) and David Van Tieghem (sound).
Bobby Cannavale (Dennis) is making his Broadway debut in Mauritius. Cannavale received a 2005 Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his recurring role as Vince D�Angelo, Will Truman�s boyfriend on 'Will & Grace.'
Alison Pill (Jackie) made her Broadway debut in the Atlantic's production of 'The Lieutenant of Inishmore' (2006), for which she was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play.
F. Murray Abraham (Sterling) was last seen on Broadway as Hermocrates in 'Triumph of Love' (1997), he made his Broadway debut in 'The Man in the Glass Booth' (1968). He won an Academy Award, L.A. Film Critics Award, and a Golden Globe for his portrayal of Antonio Salieri in Peter Shaffer's 'Amadeus' (1984).
Dylan Baker (Phillp) was last seen on Broadway as Prince Conty in 'La B�te' (1991) for which he was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play. He made his Broaday debut in 'Eastern Standard' (1989). Baker was honored with a Gotham Award for his starring role as Bill Maplewood in the film 'Happiness', directed by Todd Solondz. He can currently be seen in the Spider-Man movies playing Professor Dr. Curt Connors.
Katie Finneran (Mary) was last seen on Broadway palying the role of Brooke Ashton in 'Noises Off' (2001 revival) for which she won a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play. Finneran played Sharon Tyler in the short-lived Fox television series 'Wonderfalls', and has made appeared in 'Frasier', 'Sex and the City' and 'Oz'.
Theresa Rebeck (Playwright)is making her Broadway debut with Mauritius. Past New York productions include 'The Scene', 'The Water�s Edge', 'Spike Heels', 'Loose Knit', 'The Family of Mann', 'Bad Dates' and 'The Butterfly Collection'.
Doug Hughes (Diector) was last represented on Broadway with the Tony nominated revival of 'Inherit The Wind' (2007) starring Brian Dennehy and Christopher Plummer, which closed on 8 Jul 2007. He won a Tony Award for Best Direction of a Play for 'Doubt' (2005).
