Long Day’s Journey into Night at Lion Theater
The York Shakespeare Company will present Eugene O'Neill's Long Day's Journey into Night, directed by Seth Duerr, which will play a three week engagement, opening at Theater Row's Lion Theater on 29 May 2010, following previews from 28 May and runing through to 12 Jun 2010.
Long Day's Journey into Night is Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning autobiographical drama about a family addicted to drugs, alcohol, and hurting one another. The action covers a fateful day in their lives at their New England summer home in 1912. Drunken confessions and scathing humor in an escalating cycle of addiction and dysfunction, groping in the darkness to find their way back home.
The production stars Bill Fairbairn as 'Tyrone,' Rebecca Street as 'Mary,' Seth Duerr as 'Jamie,' Alexander Harvey as 'Edmund' and Julie Jesneck as 'Cathleen.'
The production features scenic design by Stephen K. Dobay, costume design by Sean Sullivan, lighting design by Driscoll Otto and sound design by John D. Ivy.
