Lincoln Center Theater postpones Flying Over Sunset until Fall 2020
The new musical was set to begin performances at the Vivian Beaumont Theater on March 12, 2020.
Lincoln Center Theater has announced that the Broadway premiere of new musical Flying Over Sunset has been postponed until fall 2020. Preview performances were scheduled to begin on March 12, 2020 at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (ahead of an official opening on April 16). However, due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, all Broadway theaters were forced to shutter on March 12.
In addition, Lynn Nottage and Ricky Ian Gordon's new opera Intimate Apparel, which had begun previews at Off-Broadway's Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater on February 27, 2020, has also been postponed until fall 2020.
André Bishop, Artistic Director at Lincoln Center Theater commented: "We are proud of these shows and the many talented artists who made them and we hope and pray that we will reopen them in the Fall. That is our plan. May better times come to us all."
