The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the New York Civil Liberties Union (NYCLU) have confirmed that Broadway Stand Up For Freedom will take place online this year. But, for 2020, the concert has been renamed to 'Sing Out For Freedom', and will be available to livestream on November 2 on their website

This year's concert will be hosted by Lea DeLaria, who made her Broadway debut two decades ago as Eddie and Dr. Scott in The Rocky Horror Show. DeLaria is best known for her role as Carrie "Big Boo" Black on Netflix's Orange is the New Black.

Liesl Tommy will direct the concert, featuring appearances from Broadway performers and activists standing up for civil liberties. The concert is set to honor Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Rep. John Lewis and the legacies of those who have protected American voting rights.

Performers at the Sing Out For Freedom concert are to be announced, but previous artists have included Ben Platt, Lindsay Mendez, Lena Hall and Ruthie Ann Miles.

"The right to vote is the right upon which all other rights depend, and it is crucial for us to ensure that every vote gets counted," said Donna Lieberman, executive director for the NYCLU. "As we face attacks on this fundamental right and the uncertainty of the election and its aftermath, we must come together as a community. Sing Out For Freedom is a night to get ready for the struggle ahead to protect our democracy and ensure the orderly transition of power that we can no longer take for granted."

Sing For Our Freedom is available to watch on November 2.
