The Lincoln Center's Tony Award-winning revival of The King and I has now announced a closing date of 26 June 2016. Directed by Tony winner Bartlett Sher, the Rodgers and Hammerstein's revival officially opened at Lincoln Center Theater's Vivian Beaumont Theatre on 16 April 2015, following previews from 12 March 2015. Upon closing, the musical will have played a total of 538 performances.

The current cast stars "Lost" and "Hawaii Five-0" star Daniel Dae Kim, making his Broadway debut, and three-time Tony nominee Marin Mazzie, as The King of Siam and Anna Leonowens, respectively. Synopsis: "Set in 1860's Bangkok, the musical tells the story of the unconventional and tempestuous relationship that develops between the King of Siam and Anna Leonowens, a British schoolteacher, whom the imperious King brings to Siam to tutor his many wives and children. The score features 'Getting To Know You', 'Hello Young Lovers', 'Shall We Dance', 'I Have Dreamed' and 'Something Wonderful'."

The production opened to glowing reviews and was nominated for nine Tony Awards, eventually winning four: Best Revival of a Musical, Best Actress in a Musical (Kelli O'Hara), Best Featured Actress in a Musical (Ruthie Ann Miles), and Best Costume Design of a Musical (Catherine Zuber).
