LCT presents The Wolves by Sarah DeLappe
Lincoln Center Theater will present the Obie and Drama Desk Award-winning production of The Wolves, written by Sarah DeLappe and directed by Lila Neugebauer, beginning previews at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater on November 1, 2017, before an official opening on November 20 and a limited engagement through to January 7, 2018.
Synopsis: "Left quad. Right quad. Lunge. A girls indoor soccer team warms up. From the safety of their suburban stretch circle, the team navigates big questions and wages tiny battles with all the vim and vigor of a pack of adolescent warriors. The Wolves is a portrait of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for nine American girls who just want to score some goals."
The cast of The Wolves includes (in alphabetical order) Mia Barron, Brenna Coates, Jenna Dioguardi, Samia Finnerty, Midori Francis, Lizzy Jutila, Sarah Mezzanotte, Tedra Millan, and Susannah Perkins, with additional casting to be announced at a later date.
The creative team behind The Wolves features scenic design by Laura Jellinek, costume design by Ásta Bennie Hostetter, lighting design by Lap Chi Chu, and sound design by Stowe Nelson.
The original Playwrights Realm production of The Wolves premiered at The Duke on 42nd Street in August 2016, earning rave reviews, and secured a return engagement from November 2016. The play was a 2017 finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and picked up a special Drama Desk Award for its acting ensemble, as well as an Obie Ensemble Award shared by director Lila Neugebauer and the actors. It also was nominated in the category of "Best Play" at the Lucille Lortel and Drama League Awards.
