The Lincoln Center Theater has announced the addition of two new plays to its 2014-2015 season: Bathsheba Doran's The Mystery of Love and Sex, at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater, opening on 02 Mar 2015, following previews from 5 Feb and Nick Jones's Verité, at Claire Tow Theater, opening on 18 Feb 2015, following previews from 31 Jan, closing on 15 Mar 2015.
Sam Gold will direct The Mystery of Love and Sex and the play features scenic design by Andrew Lieberman, lighting by Jane Cox, costume design by Kaye Voyce and sound by Daniel Kluger.
The Mystery of Love and Sex is about four individuals whose lives remain inextricably intertwined over time. Charlotte and Jonny are two college students, long-time friends since the age of 9. As their relationship turns romantic, over her parents' objections, an onslaught of truths about their past is unleashed, threatening not only their relationship with each other but with their families as well.
Moritz von Stuelpnagel will direct Verité, which features scenic design by Andrew Boyce, lighting by Matthew Richards and costume design by Melissa Schlachtmeyer.
Verité is about Josephine, a stay-at-home mom and struggling writer, is offered an unusual deal for her memoir: she has to make her life exciting enough to publish. As mysterious and even sinister events start happening to her, Josephine has to decide how far she is willing to go to make her life into art, and whether it's all coincidence or if someone is determined to make sure her memoir is a best-seller at any cost.
Casting for both productions will be announced at a later date.
