Journey's End: Tickets now on sale


Tickets went on sale today (Sat 30 Dec 2006) for director David Grindley's highly priased London production of R.C. Sheriff's World War I drama, Journey's End, which opens on Broadway at the Belasco Theatre on 22 Feb 2007, following previews from 8 Feb 2007.

David Grindley directed the 75th annivarsary production of the play, which ran in London from 21 Jan 2004 to 19 Feb 2005, and opened to positive reviews. The Evening Standard said, "Still comes at you with such galloping power and poignancy."; The Independent printed, "Deeply affecting revival."; The Guardian wrote, "Works powerfully on our emotions."; The Daily Telegraphed called it a "Magnificent play."; The Times wrote "Gripping."; and The Financial Times said, "It is as compelling, as moving, as anything in London theatre today."

Journey's End: Set against the background of life in the trenches during World War One, the play is based on the author's own experience of the Front. It follows a group of officers behind British lines at St Quentin, France, who await their fate on the front line.

The Broadway cast of Journey's End features Hugh Dancy, Boyd Gaines, Jefferson Mays, Stark Sands, ohn Ahlin, Nick Berg Barnes, John Behlmann, Justin Blanchard, Kieran Campion, John Curless & Richard Poe.

The show is being produced on Broadway by Boyett Ostar Productions. There has been no official release about the Broadway production. Information about the Broadway production has been provided by Telecharge.
