Emmy and Tony Award nominee Jessica Hecht joins the Broadway cast of Summer, 1976, a new play by Pulitzer Prize winner David Auburn. Performances begin at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre on April 4 ahead of an April 25 opening night.

Hecht is known for her Emmy-nominated performance in the Netflix series Special, and for roles in Friends, Breaking Bad, The Boys, and Succession. On Broadway, she received a Tony nomination for A View From the Bridge, and her other roles include Fiddler On The Roof, Julius Caesar, Harvey, and The Assembled Parties.

As previously announced, Tony, Oscar, and Emmy nominee Laura Linney stars opposite Hecht in Summer, 1976. A housewife (Hecht) and artist (Linney) develop an unlikely friendship during one summer in Ohio, sharing their ambitions and struggles and helping each other achieve independence.
