Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter, Larry Gatlin, began his successful music career thanks in part to his meeting Dottie West while performing at Jimmy Deans Las Vegas revue. Taken by his impressive song writing skills, West recorded two of his songs and passed his demo around Nashville, which soon got him a job singing back up for Kris Kristofferson. In 1973 he began his solo career and had his first Top 20 hit, Sweet Becky Walker, one year later. In 1976 his brothers, Steve and Rudy, joined Larry and they went on to record the Grammy Award winning Broken Lady, I Dont Wanna Cry, Love Is Just a Game, and Statues Without Hearts, among others.
Renowned for their family harmony that spawned country music hits, Larry Gatlin and The Gatlin Brothers rekindled their ole gospel music flame with the 2005 release of Larry Gatlin and The Gatlin Brothers Sing Their Family Gospel Favorites, and in so doing, lit the way towards their 9th Grammy nomination.
