According to the AP, top Broadway producer Kevin McCollum is looking to team up with 20th Century Fox to bring a musical adaptation of the 2006 hit movie The Devil Wears Prada to Broadway.

The partnership of McCollum and Fox also already has the previously reported Mrs. Doubtfire musical in development.

There is no official confirmation on dates or a theatre for Broadway yet.

Synopsis: "Based on Lauren Weisberger's novel, the comedy tells the story of Andrea Sachs' ambition to make it in the fashion industry. She graudates from college and lands the position of co-assistant to the icy and extremely powerful fashion magazine editor Miranda Priestly (who is supposedly based on Vogue editor Anna Wintour)."

The film's cast included Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci. Meryl Streep earned her 14th Oscar nomination (Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role) for the film, which also received a nomination for Best Achievement in Costume Design. Streep picked up the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical. Emily Blunt was nominated in the Actress in a Supporting Role category and the film itself was nominated for Best Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical. The Devil Wears Prada also earned 5 BAFTA nominations.

Producer Kevin McCollum is currently represented on Broadway by Something Rotten! and Hand to God.
