UPDATE:The Great Gatsby will now begin performances on May 23, with opening night on June 15.

Great news, old sport! The Great Gatsby, an immersive theatre production based on F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel, will make its New York debut beginning March 9. Performances will take place at The Gatsby Mansion at the Park Central Hotel New York.

For this production, created and directed by Alexander Wright, the hotel's ballrooms have been converted into Jay Gatsby's mansion. Audiences are part of the action as guests at a lavish party, and they get to watch the story of the mysterious billionaire Gatsby and his doomed love for Daisy Buchanan unfold around them.

As audiences walk around, they can even interact with characters like Nick Carraway, Daisy and Tom Buchanan, and even Jay Gatsby himself in various rooms. Guests are even encouraged, but not required, to dress in 1920s-style clothing.

Immersive Everywhere, the theatre company behind this The Great Gatsby, premiered the show in London in 2015. It is now the U.K.’s longest-running immersive production and has been performed on three different continents in three different languages.

Casting for The Great Gatsby in New York has yet to be announced.
