Horizon, by Rinde Eckert, at New York Theatre Workshop

NYTW presents Horizon, a play created, written and composed by Rinde Eckert, opening at the New York Theatre Workshop on 5 Jun 2007, following previews from 1 Jun and running through to 1 Jul 2007.

Horizon is based on the teachings of theologian Reinhold Niebuhr. Reinhart Poole, an unconventional theologian and teacher of ethics at a seminary has been pressured to resign by dogmatic powers within his church, he works all night on his last lecture. He also talks with his wife, argues with the ghost of his brother, remembers conversations, and indulges his hobby: writing a comic allegory about two ageless masons who've been building the same church foundation for 1750 years.

Directed by David Schweizer, Horizon features David Barlow, Rinde Eckert and Howard Swain.

Set and lighting design by Alexander V. Nichols, with sound by Gregory T. Kuhn.
