Hir by Taylor Mac extends by two weeks

Playwrights Horizons have announced that their current production of Hir by Taylor Mac which is currently running at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater has extended its booking by two weeks to 20 December 2015.

The production began previews on 16 October 2015, and opened officially on 8 November 2015 to mixed reviews: "Audacious and uproarious black comedy" (NYTimes); "mainly just grotesque" (Hollywood Reporter).

The cast for the production includes Kristine Nielsen, Daniel Oreskes, Tom Phelan and Cameron Scoggins.

"Somewhere in the suburbs, Isaac has returned from the wars to help take care of his ailing father, only to discover a household in revolt. The insurgent: his mom. Liberated from an oppressive marriage, with Isaac's newly out transgender brother as her ally, she's on a crusade to dismantle the patriarchy. But in Taylor Mac's sly, subversive comedy, annihilating the past doesn't always free you from it."

The production is directed by Niegel Smith, with scenic design by David Zinn, costume design by Gabriel Berry, lighting design by Mike Inwood and sound design by Fitz Patton.

Tickets for the extension are now on sale.
