Heathers the Musical Welcomes New Cast Members



The off-Broadway production of Heathers the Musical at the New World Stages welcomes two new cast members from 9 June 2014. Dave Thomas Brown and Kristolyn Lloyd will join the cast as 'JD' and 'Heather Duke' respectively.

Current cast member Ryan McCartan will play his final performance on 6 June 2014, with Dan Domenech assuming the role on 7 and 8 June 2014. Alice Lee's final performance with the company will be on 8 June 2014.

Dave Thomas Brown's stage credits include 'Spring Awakening' and 'Shakepeare's R&J'. Kristolyn Lloyd re-joins the company after originating the role of Heather Duke at The Hudson Theatre, Los Angeles. Other credits include: 'Witness Uganda', 'Hairspray' and 'Rent'.

They will both join the current cast which includes: Barrett Wilbert Weed, Elle McLemore, Jessica Keenan Wynn, Katie Ladner, Jon Eidson, Evan Todd, Tony winner Anthony Crivello, Dan Cooney, Michelle Duffy, Dan Domenech, Cait Fairbanks, Rachel Flynn, Molly Hager, Charissa Hogeland, AJ Meijer, Matthew Schatz and Dustin Sullivan.

Heathers the Musical originally opened on 31 March 2014 at the New World Stages, Stage 1, following previews from 17 Mar 2014. It features a book, music and lyrics by Kevin Murphy and Laurence O'Keefe, with direction from Andy Fickman and choreography by Marguerite Derricks.

The show opened to mainly positive reviews and was described as a "Rowdy guilty-pleasure musical" by the New York Times, "Ingenious, very funny" by the New York Post and "A fun and satisfying Off-Broadway treat" by the Daily News.

The show is currently booking to 7 September 2014.
