Happy Now? extends through to 21 Mar


Primary Stages has announced a two week extension to their New York premiere of Lucinda Coxon 's Happy Now?, now playing through to 21 Mar 2010.

Happy Now? opened at 59E59's Theater A on 9 Feb 2010, following previews from 26 Jan and was originally scheduled to close on 6 Mar 2010.

The play opened to mixed reviews: Disjointed (newyorktheatreguide.com); Tart, entertaining and ultimately haunting (NY Times); Scattered and confused (Back Stage); Provides a lot of laughs (AP).

A chance encounter at a hotel plays upon Kitty's mind in the dark comedy Happy Now?, as she struggles to balance personal freedom with family life, fidelity and a demanding job. Her husband is more interested in misplaced apostrophes than in their marriage, her parents are looking down the barrel of oblivion, and although she toys with the idea of joining a gym, Kitty's running out of time for big changes.

Directed by Liz Diamond, Happy Now? features Kate Arrington (Bea), Kelly AuCoin (Johnny), Mary Bacon (Kitty), Brian Keane (Carl), Joan MacIntosh (June), Quentin Mare (Miles) and CJ Wilson (Michael).

The creative team includes Narelle Sissons (Set), Jennifer Moeller (Costumes), Matt Frey (Lights), and David Budries (Sound).
