For the first time since 2010 a Broadway company will perform live at the Grammys. The cast of hit musical Hamilton will perform (via a satelite link to the Richard Rodgers Theatre on Broadway) during the 58th Annual Grammy Awards CBS telecast on 15 February 2016.

Lin-Manuel Miranda released the following statement:

"The Hamilton cast and crew are absolutely thrilled to be a part of this year's GRAMMY Awards. The music community's response to our cast album has been overwhelming, and we're honored to be a part of such a special night. To perform from our home at the Richard Rodgers Theatre is a dream come true."
Hosted by two-time Grammy winner LL Cool J, the Grammys will also feature performances by Adele, James Bay, Andra Day, Ellie Goulding, Sam Hunt, Tori Kelly, Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga, Little Big Town, Carrie Underwood, and The Weeknd.

Although this year marks the 58th Anniversary of the Grammys, Broadway productions have only been showcased during the telecast seven times previously - Godspell (1972), The Magic Show (1975), Sophisticated Ladies (1982), La Cage Aux Folles (1984), Will Rogers Follies (1992), Riverdance and Bring In Da Noise, Bring In Da Funk (1997) and finally Green Day's American Idiot (2010).

This year's nominations in the category of Best Musical Theater Album (in alphabetical order) are...

- An American in Paris (released by Masterworks Broadway)

- Fun Home (released by PS Classics)

- Hamilton (released by Atlantic)

- The King and I (released by Universal Music Classics)

- Something Rotten! (released by Ghostlight)

The 58th Annual Grammy Awards will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on 15 Fabruary 2016 and will be broadcast live on CBS.
