What album is Neil Young touring?

The Love Earth world tour showcases not one singular album, but hits and deep cuts from Neil Young’s illustrious career. Many of the songs are ones Young hasn't performed live for years.

Where in NYC is Neil Young performing?

Neil Young will be performing at Northwell Health's Jones Beach Theater on Long Island, accessible from NYC by car or the Long Island Railroad. As the name suggests, the venue is beachside and outdoors.

The venue allows clear plastic or vinyl tote bags no larger than 12” x 6” x 12” and/or small clutch bags (6” x 9”) that do not need to be clear. Lawn chairs, alcohol, glass containers, selfie sticks, and drones are forbidden, and if you want to bring a camera, it has to be “nonprofessional only, no detachable lenses.”

The venue also permits one factory-sealed bottle of water (at max 1 liter) per guest. The venue supplies water refill stations if you bring an empty reusable bottle — a choice true to Young’s “Love Earth” mission for sustainability.

What is the runtime of Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts' Love Earth tour?

The running time of the Love Earth tour concert is approximately 2 hours with no intermission.

What is the age recommendation for Neil Young?

Neil Young's music and concert are appropriate for all ages. His longtime fans may have grown up with Young’s rise as early as the '60s, but considering his success across six decades, many generations are drawn to Neil Young’s music and his universal mission of care for the earth and others.

What is Neil Young’s music genre?

Neil Young has been acclaimed for his folk-rock songwriting. His music has also incorporated country-folk, pop, noise, punk, and electronica sounds. As the tour's title, Love Earth, suggests, Young deals in the care of the environment. Many of his lyrics act as wistful elegies to a better Earth now gone: “The sky was blue and the air so clean, the water crystal clear.”

What can I expect at a Neil Young show?

Expect a mix of Neil Young classics like “Heart of Gold” along with songs he released with previous collaborators, including deep cuts. When Young played Love Earth in Groningen, Netherlands, he reportedly revived the rarely performed "My Boy." Rolling Stone noted that at the tour stop in Rättvik, Sweden, Young surprised audiences with other rarely performed songs like “Be the Rain,” “Looking Forward,” and “Sun Green.” Young’s die-hards might be in for surprises in New York, too!

Neil Young’s Chrome Hearts band includes Spooner Oldham (Young’s longtime collaborator and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee) on the Farfisa organ, Micah Nelson on guitar and vocal, Corey McCormick on bass and vocal, and Anthony LoGerfo on drums. Nearly six decades ago, Young played at the Greenwich Village’s Bitter End nightclub back in 1968. It was also known that in December 1970, Young played two solo acoustic shows at New York’s Carnegie Hall, the second performance of which was captured by bootleggers. Then Young made waves in the music community when he released Carnegie Hall 1970, capturing audio from the first performance, as a first release in his Official Bootleg Series in 2021.

Young has also graced NYC venues like Madison Square Garden, Lincoln Center, Radio City Music Hall, Rockefeller Center, United Palace, the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, and over a dozen more.
