Grease: Full cast announced.


Producers of the new Broadway production of Grease, directed and choreographed by Kathleen Marshall, have announced the musicals full cast.

Joining Max Crumm as Danny and Laura Osnes as Sandy are Ryan Patrick Binder as Doody, Susan Blommaert as Miss Lynch, Jeb Brown as Vince, Stephen R. Buntrock as Teen Angel, Daniel Everidge as Roger, Allison Fischer as Patty, Robyn Hurder as Marty, Lindsay Mendez as Jan, Jenny Powers as Rizzo, Jose Restrepo as Sonny, Matthew Saldivar as Kenickie, Jamison Scott as Eugene and Kirsten Wyatt as Frenchy.

The ensemble will feature Josh Franklin, Cody Green, Natalie Hill, Matthew Hydzik, Emily Padgett, Keven Quillon, Brian Sears, Christina Sivrich, Amber Stone and Anna Aimee White.

Laura Osnes and Max Crumm are the winners of the NBC talent competition series "Grease: You're The One That I Want," in which the shows viewers were able to vote who they wanted to see play the roles of Sandy and Donny on Broadway.

The cast for Grease, with just eight exceptions, are all making their Broadway debut.

Those not making their Broadway debut are:
Jeb Brown (Vince) made his Broadway debut as a child actor in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1975 revival). Brown was last seen on Broadway in the short lived musical High Fidelity (2006). His other Broadway credits are: Ring of Fire (2006), I'm Not Rappaport (2002 revival), Aida (2000) and Bring Back Birdie (1981).

Kirsten Wyatt (Frenchy) made her Broadway debut in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown (1999 revival). Wyatt 's other Broadway redits are: High Fidelity (2006) and Urinetown (2001).

Allison Fischer(Patty) made her Broadway debut in Lestat (2006), Robyn Hurder (Marty) made his Broadway debut in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (2005), Jenny Powers (Rizzo) made her Broadway debut in Little Women (2005), Matthew Saldivar (Kenickie) made his Broadway debut in The Wedding Singer (2006), Christina Sivrich (Ensemble) made her Broadway debut in The Wedding Singer (2006), and finally Amber Stone (Ensemble) made her Broadway debut in The Pajama Game (2006).

The new Broadway production of Grease will open on Broadway at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on 19 Aug 2007 following previews from 24 Jul, the show is currently booking to 16 Dec 2007.

Grease features book, music and lyrics by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey. The revival will be directed and choreographed by two-time Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall, with set design by Derek McLane, costumes by Martin Pakledinaz and lighting by Kenneth Posner.

Grease originated in Chicago and made its premiere at The Kingston Mines Theater in 1971 before making its New York premiere off-Broadway at the Eden Theatre on 14 February 1972. After 128 performances the show made the transition to Broadway taking up residence at the Broadhurst Theatre on 7 June 1972.

Grease was nominated for seven Tony Awards in its initial run. On 21 November 1972, the show moved to the Royale Theatre. It closed on Broadway after playing 3,388 performances, closing as the longest running show in Broadway history.

In 1978, Grease became a hugely popular feature film starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John in the lead roles. A Broadway revival opened on 11 May 1994 at the Eugene O'Neil Theatre where it played 1,503 performances. A London revival opened on 15 July 1993 at the Dominion Theatre and ran for 6 years on London's West End.

The musical is being produced on Broadway by Paul Nicholas and David Ian Associates, Nederlander Presentations, Inc and Phoenix Productions by arrangement with Robert Stigwood.
