Full casting announced for The New Group’s Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice

The world premiere production will begin previews on January 16, 2020 at Pershing Square Signature Center.

The New Group has announced the full cast to star alongside Duncan Sheik in the world premiere of Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice at the Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre within the Pershing Square Signature Center.

The musical will begin previews on January 16, 2020, ahead of an official opening night on February 4, 2020, with performances currently scheduled through March 15, 2020.

Joél Pérez will play the role of Bob, best known for starring in Fun Home on Broadway. Jennifer Damiano will play Carol, whose Broadway credits include Spring Awakening, Next to Normal, Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark and American PsychoMichael Zegen will play Ted, who returns to Broadway after appearing in A View from the Bridge opposite Mark Strong, directed by Ivo van Hove. Finally, Ana Nogueira will play Alice, whose previous off-Broadway credits include Engagement and Mala Hierba at Second Stage Theater.

Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice is performed as part of The New Group's 25th anniversary season which also includes Cyrano, one in two, and The Seagull/Woodstock, NY.

Synopsis: " A bittersweet comic take on the sexual revolution in which the suavely conventional lives of two successful young couples, all friends, are both stirred and shaken when they open their minds to the changing attitudes around them. Duncan Sheik and Jonathan Marc Sherman evoke both the confusions of the time, and the hard timeless lessons of marriage and emotional commitment, inspired by the brilliant and irreverent Oscar-nominated film."

Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice features a book by Jonathan Marc Sherman, with music and lyrisc by Duncan Sheik. Scott Elliott directs, with choreography by Kelly Devine, scenic design by Derek McLane, costume design by Jeff Mahshie, lighting design by Jeff Croiter and sound design by Jessica Paz.
