Full cast announced to join Marisa Tomei in The Rose Tattoo

The Broadway revival of Tennessee Williams' The Rose Tattoo begins performances at the American Airlines Theatre on September 19, 2019.

Roundabout Theatre Company has now confirmed complete casting for the upcoming Broadway revival of Tennessee WilliamsThe Rose Tattoo, which is scheduled to begin previews at the American Airlines Theatre on September 19, 2019, ahead of an official opening on October 15 and a limited engagement through Decemebr 8, 2019.

Joining previously announced Academy Award winner Marisa Tomei (as Serafina Delle Rose) will be Cassie Beck (as Miss Yorke), Alexander Bello (as Salvatore), Tina Benko (as Estelle Hoehengarten), Susan Cella (as Giuseppina), Emun Elliott (as Alvaro Mangiacavallo), Paige Gilbert (as Bessie), Greg Hildreth (as The Salesman), Isabella Iannelli (as Vivi), Jacob Michael Laval (as Bruno), Antoinette Lavecchia (as Peppina), Kecia Lewis (as Assunta), Ellyn Marie Marsh (as Violetta), Portia (as Flora), Ella Rubin (as Rosa), Jennifer Sánchez (as Mariella), Constance Shulman (as The Strega), and Burke Swanson (as Jack).

Synopsis: "This is one Tennessee Williams woman you won't soon forget. Marisa Tomei plays Serafina, a widow who rekindles her desire for love, lust and life in the arms of a fiery suitor. Williams' lesser-known gem sizzles with humor and heart in sultry New Orleans. Serafina erupts from the depths of despair to the heights of passion in this Tony Award-winning Best Play."

The production, which originally premiered at the Williamstown Theatre Festival in June 2016, reunites Marisa Tomei with director Trip Cullman. The creative team also features scenic design by Mark Wendland, costume design by Clint Ramos, lighting design by Ben Stanton, original music & sound design by Fitz Patton, and projections by Lucy Mackinnon.

The Rose Tattoo originally premiered on Broadway in 1951, winning four Tony Awards, including "Best Play". It was revived on the Great White Way in 1966 and was last seen in 1995, starring Mercedes Ruehl at the Circle in the Square Theatre.

Marisa Tomei last appeared on Broadway in the 2014 premiere of Will Eno's The Realistic Joneses and previously appeared in Caryl Churchill's Top Girls in 2008, Oscar Wilde's Salome in 2003, and in her Broadway debut in 1998's Wait Until Dark. She last appeared Off-Broadway in Lincoln Center Theater's How to Transcend a Happy Marriage in 2017. In film, she's most recently been starring as Aunt May in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, appearing in such movies as "Captain America: Civil War," "Spider-Man: Homecoming," "Avengers: Infinity War," "Avengers: Endgame," and "Spider-Man: Far From Home," and her other most notable screen credits include a 1993 Oscar-winning performance in "My Cousin Vinny" and Oscar- and Golden Globe-nominated performances in "The Wrestler" in 2009 and "In the Bedroom" in 2002.
