For Lover's Only: Gia McGlone to join cast

Gia McGlone will join the cast of the Off-Broadway musical For Lovers Only (Love Songs� Nothing but Love Songs) McGlone appeared in 'BlackfootNotes' in the 2008 New York Musical Theatre Festival(NYMF). Her tours and regional credits include 'Aida,' 'Beehive,' 'Little Shop of Horrors' and 'Dora the Explorer Live.'

McGlone will be replacing Monica L. Patton. joining current cast members Glenn Seven Allen, Dominique Plaisant, Trisha Rapier and Kevin Vortmann.

The musical revue, presented by Eric Krebs/ EKTM, Inc. opened at New World Stages / Stage 5 is currently booking through to 27 Jul 2009.

The show opened to mixed, but mostly poor reviews: "the theatrical equivalent of elevator music." (New York Times), "is like watching two hours of "American Idol" auditions" (New York Post), "this inoffensive song stack seems downright noxious." (Back Stage), "This musical cavalcade is a lot of fun" (Associated Press); "For Lovers Only," ..., begs the question: for lovers of what? Not for lovers of theater, certainly." (Variety).

Directed and choreographed by Christopher Scott, For Lovers Only features nearly 100 of the 20th Century�s most beloved love songs, from the American Popular Songbook, Broadway, and beyond.

The show features set design by Peter R. Feuchtwanger, with costume design by Bernard Grenier and lighting design by Ben Hagen.
