Enter Laughing extends its run by two weeks and will now play through to 20 Mar

The York Theatre Company have announced that its production of Enter Laughing, score by Stan Daniels and libretto by Joseph Stein, based on his play (and the movie by Stein and Reiner), will extend its run by two weeks, and will now run through to 20 Mar 2009.

The musical opened at the Theatre at Saint Peter's for a return engagement on 21 Jan 2009, where it was originally scheduled to close on 8 Mar 2009. The musical played an earlier run from 3 Sep through to 26 Oct 2008.

Enter Laughing is set in 1930s New York City, where nothing will keep aspriring actor David Kolowitz from his dreams of Broadway stardomnot his overly protective parents, not his demanding girlfriends and certainly not his severe lack of talent!

Directed by Stuart Ross, Enter Laughing features Josh Grisetti (David Kolowitz), Jill Eikenberry (Mother), Michael Tucker (Father), Bob Dishy (Marlowe), Marla Schaffel (Angela), Paul Binotto, Ray DeMattis, Erick Devine, Betsy DiLellio, Gerry McIntyre, Robb Sapp, Emily Shoolin and Allison Spratt.

The creative team features James Morgan (sets), David Toser (costumes) and Chris Robinson (lighting).

Enter Laughing played on Broadway in 1976 as 'So Long 174th Street,' starring Robert Morse.
