After shows in late 2020, Radial Park at Halletts Point Play will be home to more live theater this spring, as new productions have been confirmed. The venue will be home to what's being billed a "cinemersive" performance of The Blues Brothers from May 27.

Ahead of reopening, Radial Park producers said: "Our goal... has been ensuring that 'The show goes on!', amid the ongoing COVID pandemic in a big - and safe - way. We have been overwhelmed with the positive reception for our shows this Fall and look forward to a Spring full of performances and exciting, unique, activities for New Yorkers of all ages."

The Blues Brothers performances will feature a live band, with performances timed in sync with the 1980s movie. The cast stars Charity Angel Dawson as Mrs. Murphy, Nick Rashad Burroughs as Reverend Cleophus James, F. Michael Haynie as Elwood Blues, Brian Charles Johnson as "Joliet" Jake Blue and Antoine L. Smith as Ray, along with Ladonna Burns and Anne Fraser Thomas as the Blues Sistas.

As well as drive-in cinema experiences, Radial Park will also be home to a music festival series and open-air food markets.

A series of immersive audio plays will also open at Radial Park this spring. Five audio plays will be available for one week at a time, from April 23 - May 23. Audiences can either tune in to the audio plays on location, or remotely from the comfort of their own home.

Productions announced so far include adaptations of Treasure Island, starring Rob McClure, Maggie Lakis, Victoria Huston-Elem, Christian Elan Ortiz, Kurt Uy and Stuart Williams. Other shows include The Tempest starring Sonia Manzano and Tyler Hardwick, new plays Clu-eth and Beyond the Veil, with the latter starring Montego Glover and Quentin Earl Darrington. The final show is to be announced, but it's been confirmed that it will be a musical.
