Drama League 2010 Award Winners


The winners of the 76th Annual Drama League Awards were announced on 22 May 2010 at a luncheon co-hosted by Vanessa Williams and Michael Urie at the Grand Ballroom of the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Times Square.

Alfred Molina won the Distinguished Performance Award (which can be won only once in an actor's career) for his role as 'Mark Rothko ' in John Logan's 'Red.

Sondheim on Sondheim: The Musical won Distinguished Production of a Musical, Red won Distinguished Production of a Play, La Cage aux Folles won Distinguished Revival of a Musical and A View from the Bridge won Distinguished Revival of a Play.

The Drama League also presented its three previously announced special recognitions:

  • Distinguished Achievement in Musical Theatre Award went to Nathan Lane
  • The Julia Hansen Award for Excellence in Directing went to Kenny Leon
  • The Unique Contribution to the Theatre Award went to Macy's Parade and Entertainment Group
