Fri 26 Mar 2004 "Dracula, The Musical" to open at the Belasco Theatre on 05 Aug 2004 (UPDATE: Now opening 19 Aug 2004), previews from the 12 Jul 2004 (UPDATE: Now previewing from 28 July 2004) The first new musical of the 2004-2005 Broadway season, Dracula, The Musical will open at the Belasco Theatre on 5 August 2004 (UPDATE: Now opening 19 Aug 2004 ). Previews will begin 12 July 2004. (UPDATE: Now previewing from 28 July 2004) The Musical features a book by Christopher Hampton, lyrics by Don Black and music by composer Frank Wildhorn. Dracula, The Musical will be produced on Broadway by Dodger Stage Holding and Joop van den Ende, in association with Clear Channel Entertainment.The production will be directed by Des McAnuff, and choreographed by Mindy Cooper. Sets by Heidi Ettinger; costumes by Catherine Zuber; lighting by Howell Binkley; and musical direction by Constantine Kitsopoulos. Dracula, The Musical is a new musical vision of romance, terror and temptation based on the Bram Stoker classic novel. Set in Europe at the end of the Victorian Age, the production follows Dracula's lust for new blood and a small band of mortal men and women who must face his overwhelming seduction and mesmeric supernatural powers.
