Don't Go Gentle: MCC announces complete cast

MCC Theater have announced the compete cast for their world premiere production of Stephen Belber's Don't Go Gentle, playing at the Lucille Lortel Theatre from 27 Sep - 4 Nov 2012.

Directed by Lucie Tiberghien, the cast will star David Wilson Barnes (Broadway: 'The Lieutenant of Inishmore,' Off-Broadway: 'Becky Shaw'), newcomer Maxx Brawer, Michael Cristofer (NBC's hit series "Smash," Broadway: 'A View from the Bridge'), Angela Lewis (Off-Broadway: 'Rapture, Blister, Burn') and Jennifer Mudge (Broadway: 'The Philanthropist').

Don't Go Gentle: Judge Lawrence Driver: conservative powerhouse on the bench, failure at home. Now retired, widowed, and seeking redemption, Lawrence volunteers to do pro bono legal work with Tanya, a vulnerable ex-con with a troubled teenage son, while working to repair the increasingly complicated relationships with his own adult children. But do-overs don't come easy, and when his newfound generosity is perceived as condescension, Lawrence runs the risk of losing everything.

Playwright Stephen Belber's 'Match' premiered on Broadway in 2004. His plays 'McReele,' 'A Small, Melodramatic Story' and 'Fault Lines' have been produced Off-Broadway.

Acclaimed director Lucie Tiberghien, a frequent collaborator with Belber, directed his play 'Geometry of Fire' at the Rattlestick Theater and 'A Small, Melodramatic Story' at the Public.

Don't Go Gentle will be the first production of MCC's 2012-13 three-play mainstage season. As previously announced, the season will continue with Really Really, by Paul Downs Colaizzo, directed by David Cromer (31 Jan - 10 Mar 2013) and end with Small Engine Repair, by John Pollono, directed by Jo Bonney (16 May - 23 Jun 2013).
