Disney on Broadway presents benefit concert series for The Actors Fund

'Live at The New Am' is taking place from July 22 - 25.

To celebrate Broadway's reopening, as well as The Actors Fund's initiatives during the pandemic, Disney on Broadway will present a benefit concert. Live at The New Am is taking place at the New Amsterdam Theatre, the home of Disney's Aladdin, from July 22 - 25. Live at The New Am tickets are on sale now.

"These four concerts allow us to welcome fans back to Broadway even sooner and give us a chance to raise much-needed funds to support the heroic work being done by the remarkable staff at The Actors Fund. We cannot wait to return to the exhilaration of musical theatre. For the first time in forever, we actually can" said President of Disney Theatrical Productions, Thomas Schumacher.

The concert will star Michael James Scott, who plays the Genie in Disney's Aladdin. Speaking about the concerts, he said: "There aren't enough adjectives to describe how excited and honored I am to get to be part of this historic reopening of Broadway and the legendary New Amsterdam Theatre. Bringing this feel-good concert to NYC with some of my closest friends and my DOB family is a dream come true. Did I mention I'm excited?!"

He's joined by Kissy Simmons, who has played Nala in The Lion King. Ashley Brown will also take part, previously playing the title role in Mary PoppinsTarzan's Josh Strickland rounds off the company.

The full concert setlist has not been released ahead of the event. However, audiences can expect to hear their favourite Disney musical numbers, including "Let It Go" and "Circle of Life." Live at The New Am tickets are on sale now.
