Dinner With Friends: Heather Burns joins cast



Heather Burns has joined the cast of the Roundabout Theatre Company's Off-Broadway revival of Donald Margulies' Pulitzer Prize-winning Dinner with Friends, directed by Pam MacKinnon, opening at the Laura Pels Theatre on 04 Feb 2014, following previews form 10 Jan 2014, and running through to 06 Apr 2014.

Burns will star as 'Beth, replacing the previously announced Maria Dizzia who has withdeawn from the production for personal reasons.

Burns joins the previously announced Tony Award-nominee Jeremy Shamos as 'Gabe,' Darren Pettie as 'Tom' and Marin Hinkle as 'Karen.'

Burns has appeared on Broadway in Billy Elliot. Her Off-Broadway credits include 'Medieval Play,' 'Middletown,' 'The Marriage of Bette and Boo,' 'Fran's Bed,' 'Writer's Block' and 'Lobby Hero.' Her TV work includes "Save Me," "Bored to Death," "The Unusuals," "Twenty Good Years" and "The $treet." Films include "The Fitzgerald Family Christmas," "What's Your Number?," "Valley of the Sun," "Weakness" and " Ashes."

Dinner with Friends: Ever since Karen (Hinkle) and Gabe (Shamos) played matchmaker with their friends Beth (Burns) and Tom (Pettie), the two couples have been inseparable-going to the Vineyard every summer, raising their kids and enjoying countless dinners together. But when one marriage unexpectedly crumbles, the couples' lives begin to veer in opposite directions. Can these four friends move on to the next chapter without moving apart... or have they changed beyond recognition?

The creative team includes Allen Moyer (Sets), Ilona Somogyi (costumes) and Jane Cox (Lights).
