‘Diana: The Musical’ cast recording sets release date
A new piece of music from 'Diana: The Musical' is now available to listen to.
Ahead of reopening at the Longacre Theatre, a release date and full tracklist for the Diana: The Musical cast recording has been confirmed. The Diana: The Musical cast recording will be released on September 24, with a Netflix premiere of Diana: The Musical on October 1 and in-person performances at the Longacre Theatre from November 2.
Diana: The Musical features an original book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro, with music and lyrics by David Bryan. The Diana: The Musical score includes 22 original songs. Speaking about the album, David Bryan said: "The making of the cast album was an unbelievable experience. We made it during the shutdown under the protocols. The musicians hadn't played for a long time. And when they did, they played with such joy. You can feel it on every track."
The cast recording stars the original Broadway cast of Diana: The Musical, who will also be returning to the show in November. Jeanna de Waal plays the titular Princess Diana, joined by Roe Hartrampf as Prince Charles, Erin Davie as Camilla Parker Bowles and Judy Kaye as Queen Elizabeth.
The cast is completed by Zach Adkins, Tessa Alves, Ashley Andrews, Austen Danielle Bohmer, Holly Ann Butler, Stephen Carrasco, Richard Gatta, Lauren E.J. Hamilton, Emma Hearn, Shaye B. Hopkins, André Jordan, Gareth Keegan, Nathan Lucrezio, Tomás Matos, Chris Medlin, Laura Stracko, and Bethany Ann Tesarck.
Diana: The Musical is a biographical musical that dramatises Diana Spencer's life in the Royal Family. Trapped in a loveless marriage to Prince Charles, the show celebrates her life and how she became the most famous woman in the world creating her own legacy.
A music video for the show's eighth song, titled "The World Fell In Love", is now available to watch. "The World Fell in Love" is sung by Jeanna de Waal, Roe Hartrampf, Erin Davie and Judy Kaye. You can watch a video for "The World Fell in Love" from Diana: The Musical below.
