Dave Thomas Brown will star as Elder Price in The Book of Mormon on Broadway

Broadway alum Dave Thomas Brown is set to join the cast of Broadway's Book of Mormon from February 20, 2018.

Broadway alum Dave Thomas Brown is set to join the 2011 Tony Award-winning Best Musical The Book of Mormon from February 20, 2018, when he assumes the leading role of Elder Price from long-running star Nic Rouleau. Mr. Brown previously made his Broadway debut in American Psycho in 2016 and also appeared in the National Tour of The Bridges of Madison County and in the off-Broadway productions of The Legend of Georgia McBride and Heathers: The Musical. Mr. Rouleau will play his final performance in the musical on February 18, 2018.

The current principal cast of The Book of Mormon includes Nic Rouleau (as Elder Price), Brian Sears (as Elder Cunningham), Kim Exum (as Nabulungi), Stephen Ashfield (as Elder McKinley), and Billy Eugene Jones (as Mafala Hatimbi).

The Book of Mormon officially opened at Broadway's Eugene O'Neill Theatre on 24 March 2011, following previews from 24 February, and features a book, music & lyrics by Robert Lopez and "South Park" creators Trey Parker & Matt Stone.

Synopsis: The Book of Mormon follows "a pair of mismatched Mormon boys sent on a mission to a place that's about as far from Salt Lake City as you can get."

The musical won a total of nine Tony Awards in 2011, including "Best Musical," and has been a box office hit with a regular house attendence of over 100% ever since.

The show is choreographed by Casey Nicholaw and directed by Nicholaw and Trey Parker - joint winners of the 2011 Tony Award for "Best Direction of a Musical".

The creative team also features music supervision by Stephen Oremus, orchestrations by Larry Hochman, scenic design by Scott Pask, costume design by Ann Roth, lighting design by Brian MacDevitt, and sound design by Brian Ronan.

The Book of Mormon Tickets are available now for performances through to October 14, 2018.
