Producers of Michael McKeever's drama Daniel's Husband have announced an off-Broadway closing date of December 30, 2018 at the Westside Theatre Upstairs. Previews began on October 18, 2018, before an official opening on October 28, and upon closing, the production will have played a total of 13 previews and 73 regular performances.

Producer Ted Snowdon commented: "I am extremely proud of this show and everyone involved that made it the emotional and artistic success that it is. We knew when we began our commercial transfer that it would be a challenge to have this beautifully written, well-made play stand out in this busy season. I take pride in knowing that this show deeply affected audiences, and provoked them to think, discuss the play, and both laugh and cry. Daniel's Husband is a perfect example of why we go to the theatre - to be engaged, and even changed. I am truly honored in what we accomplished with Michael McKeever's play, under the perfectly balanced direction of Joe Brancato and the amazing performances by our cast. Although we end this run, our third in three years, I expect big things for Daniel's Husband in future productions around the country."

Synopsis: "Daniel's Husband is a contemporary American play about two men - the personification of the perfect couple - who happen to have conflicting views of relationships. A turn of events forces them to face the consequences of their differences, and they learn that they are living in a world where fundamental rights aren't always so fundamental."

The cast includes Ryan Spahn (as Daniel), Matthew Montelongo (as Mitchell), Lou Liberatore (as Barry), Anna Holbrook (as Lydia), and Leland Wheeler (as Trip).

Under the direction of Joe Brancato, the creative team features scenic design by Brian Prather, costume design by Gregory Gale, lighting design by Jeff Croiter, and sound design by William Neal.

The New York premiere engagement of Daniel's Husband, courtesy of Primary Stages, was staged at the Cherry Lane Theatre from March to April 2017.

Daniel's Husband Tickets are available now for performances through to December 30, 2018.
