'Cowboy v. Samurai' at the Rattlestick Playwrights Theater

National Asian American Theatre Company presents the world premiere of Cowboy v. Samurai, by Michael Golamco. Opening at the Rattlestick Playwrights Theater on the 8 Nov 2005, following previews from the 4 Nov and running through to the 27 Nov 2005.

Cowboy v. Samurai is a contemporary retelling of Cyrano de Bergerac set in the mythic American West. When a mysterious and beautiful Asian-American woman moves to Breakneck, Wyoming, everyone falls in love with her, the samurai, the cowboy, and especially Travis (Cowboy V. Samurai's Cyrano) - the Asian American teacher who doesn't stand a chance. In this romantic comedy love letters are sealed and bound, horses set ablaze and the history of the railroads are deconstructed all the while the hand of the fair maiden is at stake.

The cast for Cowboy v. Samurai, directed by Lloyd Suh, features: Joel de la Fuente (Travis), C.S. Lee (Chester), Hana Moon (Veronica) and Timothy Davis (Del).

Cowboy v. Samurai has set design by Sarah Lambert, costumes by Elly van Horne and lighting by Stephen Petrilli.
